My feet hurt. The sun was blazing. The wind was blowing. An epic battle of the elements while I was standing online for The Last Airbender in 3D screening in Times Square at Regal cinemas. The crowd was diverse but excited all the same despite the tiring delays and hour long technical issues.
Well the movie you ask…………………………It sucked balls. Big hairy orangutang balls.
Sigh…Shyamalan ya aight?!
The storyline was butchered. The most stimulating parts from the show were simply read to us like huddled school children. The acting was horrendous. The director was right (or neglectful of the series) to pronounce Soka as So-ca instead of Sah-ca and Ahng instead of Aang because these characters certainly were not them. The laziness of some of the scenes con-fuddled me. The bending was a joke. Who wants to see someone dancing for 5 minutes and waving their hands around just to flick a speck of fire the size of a match across the field. We sat at the edge of our seats waiting for a miraculous demonstration of martial arts and magical elemental pyrotechnics in the clash of the elements but…it didn’t! Their was no Action!! Unless I blinked. And why in the raatid bummbaklot hell can’t fire benders produce their own fire!?!! How disappointing. The movie definitely did not hold up to what I thought it would be. Probably worse then what I thought it wouldn’t be. Confused, yea so was I. Hm Other than that the movie makes a nice screensaver.
My advice save your money and watch the animation on nick, thee best, unless your planning on seeing the sexy martyr herself, princess Yue, the moon princess spirit played by Seychelle Gabriel. MMmmm you can bend my tides any day princess.
Time for me to do some sleep-bending of my own, and if it’s anything like the movie it will take hours before I get anywhere.
O Twilight anyone?! Excited!? I am, need some recovery asap.

Haha this was very funny Junior. You have a great voice in your post, and I like that you chose to review a movie that just came out. I feel as though you have a greater advantage than people who just went to see the movie out of the blue because it seems as though you’ve watched the series on Nick. Maybe those who haven’t watched the series would think that it was good? I know that I was the same way about Dragon Ball Z. I watched the series growing up and couldn’t sit through the movie when it came out. Keep it up.
The tv series is very good from what I hear. I have not watched it personally but it’s a shame they ruined it with such a bad movie. I watched it online and I stopped halfway through.
