It’s not just a shoe

First off I wanna give a thanks to Matt, not only for the amazing opportunity he is giving to everyone to share their passion and knowledge, but also for attempting to enlighten everyone through the way he lives. Second off, I would like to give him thanks for helping me out with setting my site up and giving me a few pointers for LI KICKS. Last, but certainly not least, last night I watched a video that Matt and his brother taped on college and letting go and while watching the video it truly inspired me and made me want to motivate myself to a higher level and actually let go. What Matt’s doing here is a great thing and I give him a ton of thanks and good luck with it all.

Well as you may know from the website I’ve created, or if you know me personally, I have a very big passion for shoes. I was probably in 9th grade when I was really introduced to culture of shoes and the funny part is is that it was from watching and seeing Matt, and my friend’s Nick and Chris collecting sb’s dunks. They would come to school with shoes I’ve never heard or seen before in my life, yet I knew that I was in love with them. From there they introduced me to sneaker bistro where I bought my first pair of ipaths, which where white and made out tan canvas material. They were awesome.

To me it’s more then just a shoe. It’s a category, it’s a hobby, and it’s really however deep into it you want to go. To me though, when I look at shoes I look at them as a work of art or inspiration. For instance, my Jones beach air force ones. I don’t consider that just a shoe, it’s a work of art, a symbol of how Long Island has developed and how it continues to build and reach out to different cultures. Shoes itself can define a culture and what it consists of, they tell a story like a work of art, and when you look at them you can see how the artist felt and his mood and what he was trying to portray. Another example are my Brazil Nike highs, they were released when Brazil won the world cup, and the shoe tells the story of how it was a great time in Brazilian history and how they decided to express their moment of history through the creation of a shoe.

Well, as you can see, since that day I’ve continued to collect and find some of the rarest sneakers around and bring the info and love to you guys. Thanks for stopping by and checking the article out.
