Dormant Love

She winked,

I stared.

She smiled,

I frowned.

She left,

I am ailing;

The evidence of

my quiet love.

If only I had

smiled back

while she winked,

kissed her cheek

while she smiled,

hugged her tight

while she frowned;

perhaps

perhaps I would not

be sitting alone

on my cold bed.
